Juan José Albarracín, S.A. is a leading company in the manufacture, sale and distribution of spices and condiments, which maintains a commitment to Society and the Environment, integrating Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Policy in its business strategy. Senior Management is involved in the acceptance, promotion and implementation of the same as a sustainable business model in which the search for profitability goes hand in hand with the contribution to the progress and welfare of present and future generations.
The purpose of this Policy is to establish a framework that serves as a reference for the development of its operations, relying on the transversal commitment of the entire Organization and its stakeholders (Customers, Suppliers, Employees, Collaborating Entities, Society, etc.).
The areas of action of our Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility Policy are as follows:
- Integrity in business: Ethical code of conduct.
- Labor standards.
- Health and safety: commitment to employee welfare.
- Environmental management: objective of improving agricultural uses.
As a sign of commitment with sustainability, on year 2013, Juan José Albarracín, S.A. joined SEDEX to achieve a more sustainable social and environmental supply chain. In order to achieve this goal, the company is audited under the standard SMETA (4 pillars)
Reinforcing our business policy, back in 2019 the company joined the international Initiative SSI (Sustainable Spices Initiative) stablishing measurable objectives for the supply of sustainable raw materials.
At the same time, the company has worked in the calculation and reduction of its carbon footprint. Since 2018 the governmental authority for ecological transition keeps the record of our carbon footprint every year. In the same line the company joins SBTi (Science Based Target Initiative) to show its commitment with reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Certifications
We have the certifications that certify the quality and food safety of our products (ISO 9001, BRC, etc...), that certify that our products are suitable for the Muslim (HALAL seal) and Jewish (KOSHER seal) population, as well as sustainable supply chain certifications (RAINFOREST ALLIANCE).
We are in the process of obtaining the ISO 17025 Accreditation, which will make our laboratory results official.
